Medical Students' Clinical Skills Compared to Educational Standards at Universities of Medical Sciences: A Self-assessment Study

Background: Physicians, as the leading decision-makers of health system, are affected by various clinical statuses. Objectives: This study aimed to compare skills medical students future physicians with educational standards Zahedan University Medical Sciences in 2020 - 2021. Methods: was performed on 107 (53 stagers and 54 interns). After obtaining students' consent recording their demographic academic information, were assessed using Clinical Skills Questionnaire. The obtained data analyzed SPSS software Ver. 20. Results: least trained surgical department suprapubic puncture thoracotomy a needle compressive pneumothorax. In pediatric ward, no skill training good condition, only practical measures monitor growth development adequately trained. internal related lumbar aspiration knee joint fluid. gynecology abortion evacuation pairs forceps cases life-threatening bleeding postpartum hemorrhage considered instructed skills. Finally, emergency nasal catheter, sampling, cricothyrotomy skill. Conclusions: results showed low number encounters minimum expected investigated school, indicating poor quality training. programs should be modified so that learners can equipped “the must learn”
